Dr. Wong, a native of Hawaii, earned his B.A. in 1982 and M.D. in 1986, both from the University of Hawaii. He is the founder of Desert Endocrinology, the largest endocrine practice in Nevada, and has helped to set the standard of endocrine care in this community. Dr. Wong is a pioneer in the field of osteoporosis therapy, having been the first to implement DEXA scanning to the Las Vegas valley. Additionally, he has served as the Director of the Nevada Diabetes Center at Valley Hospital. He is a principal investigator for a number of clinical research protocols investigating new endocrine therapies. He serves on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, one of the world’s premiere endocrinology societies. Dr. Wong, his wife and two sons have lived in Southern Nevada since 1991.
Dr. Litchfield graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University and received his M.D. from the University of Calgary, where he also finished a residency in Internal Medicine. He completed his endocrinology training with a fellowship at Harvard Medical School and is the author of more than a dozen scientific publications. He has been the recipient of many awards for his research as well as being recognized by his patients and peers in the medical community. Dr. Litchfield is the Medical Director of St. Rose Dominican Hospital’s Diabetes Education Center. He served as the President of the Nevada Chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists for over a decade and has been also served on many national committees at AACE. He is an active member of the American Thyroid Association and has served on the Neck Ultrasound Certification Council for the American College of Endocrinology. He has been a Principal Investigator in many clinical research protocols studying the effects of cutting-edge therapies in endocrinology. He is also an avid fly fisher and cyclist. Dr. Litchfield has lived in Southern Nevada with his wife and three children since 1998.

Mr. Walker graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno School of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner in 1996. He has been practicing full time in endocriniology and diabetes care since 2000. Mr. Walker is a certified diabetes educator, and is board certified by the ANCC in both family practice and Advanced Diabetes Management. Special practice foci include aggressive use of insulin pumps for diabetes management, and the use of Continuous Glucose Monitoring. Mr. Walker has been actively involved in clinical research since 2000, serving as a sub-investigator on more than 70 clinical trials.
Mr. Springer brings more than 25 years of medical experience to Desert Endocrinology. He served with honor in the US Air Force as a Medical Service Technician and EMT, including active duty service during the Persian Gulf War. He received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Nevada, Reno in 1987. He practiced as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care/Trauma setting for many years at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. Mr. Springer graduated from the UNR with a Master of Science degree, and qualified as an advanced practitioner of nursing in 2001. Since that time, Mr. Springer has practiced in the fields of patient education, occupational health, hepatology and nephrology. He brings to Desert Endocrinology extensive experience in treating patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders. He has further experience as a clinical investigator in the development of cutting-edge pharmaceuticals, and is the recipient of the outstanding graduate student research award from UNR. Mr. Springer is renowned for his wonderful bedside manner, his compassionate care, and his ability to connect with patients with chronic illnesses. He has lived in the Las Vegas valley with his wife and 2 children since 2001.
